Roadway Box Culvert & Drainage Replacement | Spartanburg, SC

For this public roadway project in Spartanburg County, our crew is replacing an aging 72-inch pipe with an 80-foot precast concrete box culvert: 16 sections set by crane with four wing walls. Working from the lake outlet upstream, we kept the creek moving through the existing pipe and bypass pumps until tie-in. The foundation was undercut and rebuilt with Class A riprap and surge stone wrapped in nonwoven geotextile, capped with #57 stone, and the outlet is armored with riprap. The scope also covers demolition, storm drain replacement, curb and gutter, paving, and guardrail, all under a full road closure with traffic control.
