Just up the road from Easley in
Liberty, we rebuilt a washed-out employee parking lot. Our crew graded and compacted the base, placed fabric and riprap along the washout, then imported, spread and compacted four loads of asphalt millings to firm up the parking surface. See our guide on
fixing a washout before winter.
Easley sits in the foothills, where steep driveways and parking areas wash out after heavy rain. Most of the fixes we do here come down to controlling water: shaping the grade so runoff goes where it should, armoring channels and outlets with riprap, and using millings or stone where a surface has to hold up to traffic.
